Playing around the house

Owen is just not sure about all the games Marin comes up with. Look at that look on his face "Mom this girl is nuts! She wants to cover my head with that blanket!"
She just loves telling him stories, and he always listens.
He's as crazy as she is.

she likes to wash her undies and socks in the sink
and he likes to kick up his heals!

First Day Back At School

Today was Marin's first day back at preschool. I did not get a picture of her new room, which has an amazing play kitchen area, or her new teachers, or any of that. But we walked home and I guess this is why she was so quiet the last few blocks.

More Matching Babies

Its fun to put our two little red headed babies together at the same age to see how alike they look. The first one, is Marin, obviously, we have not made Owen wear the pink bloomers! Soooo chubby, I love round babies.

Owen, wearing the Best Baby shirt again.
Marin (look at that round belly!)

Owen likes to eat his hands.

Footprints

We were given a gift certificate to our local pottery and paint shop. I played the "Village Midwife" for some friends, and did their birth education and postpartum care and as a thanks they gave us this wonderful gift of getting the kids footprints done. I love these little feet.

Matching Babies

This is Marin at the moment of birth

And this is Owen at the moment of birth (and this is a bad picture of me, so pay attention to the baby).

This is Marin the day after she was born, she had more hair

And this is Owen the day after he was born, he had a dimple in his chin. Isn't it fun to see how much they look alike?

Owen's Jam Bucket

This is Owen's Jam Bucket. It was rescued from the recycle bin when I was still working at the bakery. We have used this bucket for just about everything, holding beach toys, watering plants, and now bathing a baby!
Raspberry jam, blueberry jam, strawberry jam? This baby is just so sweet.

Battle of the Species

So when Grandma Cheri was here we got a bird feeder. Can you guess who is eating the bird seed?
This is Marin's BIRD feeder and she is defending it with water, and yelling.
And a sign--"NO SQUIRRELS ALLOWED!"

Would you like to know who is winning the battle? Well first they removed the lid from the bucket that held the seed. Folks let me just tell you this is not an easy lid to get off the bucket, in fact we used to use it for our dirty cloth diapers several years ago, it was chosen because it would not let any smell sneak out...ITS REALLY TIGHT!!! Well once we realized it was the squirrels that were removing the lid we set something very heavy on the lid, so they chewed up the rim of the lid, you can see all the white bits of the lid and the black bits are the sealant rubber for the lid...

And finally when we did not add any seed to the feeder the squirrels took their final revenge and broke the string on the feeder.

Marin is so mad at them...

and Owen doesn't care.
